Troubleshooting
Message lights on multiple telephones are not
turned On and Off in a timely manner
Possible Cause
Corrective Action
There is heavy call traffic and Reduce Outcalling volume. If the
Outcalling volume on the mail
problem is not resolved, consider
system. The same port used for adding more ports to the mail
message light activation and

module is loose.
Check the connections between the
Outcalling port and the 206 module:
On a two-port system, check the
connection to port 2.
On a four-port system, check the
connection to port 4.
On a six-port system, check the
connections to ports 5 and 6.
If the problem occurs during times
of heavy call traffic, there may be
insufficient touch-tone receivers
on the communications system
modules, or there may be a
defective touch-tone receiver.
