About the Strata CS H.323 SoftPhone ________________________
The Strata CS H.323 SoftPhone is included with Strata CS ViewPoint. If your system has
properly configured H.323 trunks, the SoftPhone can turn your PC into an H.323-based
voice-over-IP telephone. To speak and listen, you can use your PC's microphone and speakers,
or a USB phone which will provide better quality. To place calls, you can use ViewPoint or the
SoftPhone keypad window.
Important: If your system is configured to use only SIP-based Voip, the Strata CS H.323
SoftPhone will not work. Use the eyeBeam SIP softphone instead, which also provides higher
audio quality than the H.323 SoftPhone. See
Appendix G, “Using the eyeBeam SIP softphone.”
Recommended USB phones
The following are recommended USB phones for use with the Strata CS H.323 SoftPhone:
Q Desk phone: Eutectics IPP400. Choose “Drivers Only” for the Integration Package and
Protocol Options.

While other USB phones may work, no other USB phones are recommended at this time,
