WARNING:
The control unit cannot be installed
outdoors.
It
must be installed in an environment
suitable for electronic equipment. Do not expose the
control unit to devices that generate electrical
interference such as arc welders or motors.
SPACE AND
LOCATION
REQUIRIEMENTS
The control unit should be located with the following
points in mind:
CO line protection.
The control unit should be
installed near the Central Office line protectors
provided by the local telephone company. Refer to
“System Grounding Requirements” on page 2-5 for
additional information about line protection.
Ventilation.
Allow at least 1 inch of space on the right
and left sides of the control unit and 12 inches of space
above and below the control unit to prevent
overheating. Do not place the control unit near
extreme heat or in direct sunlight.
Placement.
AIlow at least 1 foot of space to the right
of the basic carrier for expansion and at least two feet
of space to the left for a jack field. Refer to “Wiring
the System” on page 2-12 and “Jack Field Wiring” on
page 2-33 for additional information on space
requirements.

SPECIFICATIONS
Voltage range.
99 to 129 VAC
Voltages generated by the power supply remain within
specification for an
ac
line voltage low of 99 VAC.
The system will bridge a 40 millisecond supply outage
without dc voltages being affected.
