CHAPTER 19
Auto-Attendant
This chapter shows you how to configure auto-attendant on the X6004.
19.1 Auto-Attendant Overview
An auto-attendant is software which acts as an automatic switchboard operator. auto-
attendants help route incoming calls to their proper extension. An auto-attendant is assigned to
each outbound line group and it services incoming calls on those lines. If your organization
has two outbound line groups, each with a specific telephone number for incoming calls, then
you can assign a different auto-attendant for each incoming line. Assign one auto-attendant for
general calls to your organization (for example, AA1) and one auto-attendant (for example
FAX) for direct routing to a FAX machine.

19.2 Auto-Attendant Structure
The X6004 comes with a default auto-attendant. The default auto-attendant simply prompts
callers to enter the extension they wish to reach. There is only one time when a caller has to
make a decision. The following figure shows the default auto-attendant structure.
