2 Plug the other end of the cable into the DS256 connector on the faceplate of the MSC in the
BCM1000. Refer to Figure 38.

Warning: The timing in the Business Communications Manager system is designed for a
5 m (16 ft.) Category 5 patch cable. The system cannot work properly if you connect the
BCM1000e using a cable that is any other length.
