Using a 9 pin female D-Sub connector, this is an RS-232 serial port using the standard PC-
style format, configured as if it were a modem. Zephyr Xstream ignores any incoming
handshake signals.
Acomputerpluggedintothisportcancontrolthesystem,andcanaccessanumberofspecial
diagnosticmodes,asdescribedinSection12(SystemFunctions&RemoteControl).Itisalso
possibletoconnecttotheZephyrXstream’scommandlineusingTCP/IP(seebelow).
Whenusedforlocalcontrolthisfunctionisalwaysavailable.Formoreontheloc

Thisportcanalsobeplacedina“transparentmode”toallowcommunicationwithanother
Zephyr(Layer3only)orZephyrXstream(Layer3&AAConly).Notesingledirection
communicationispossibleifthecorrectcodingmodeisonlyuse
dinonedirection.
