STREAMING DEFINITIONS
PullOnly
Theconnectioninthistypeofstreamisinitiatedbythelistener(client).The
clientcontactsthesender(server),requestingastreamtobesent.Theserver
sendsastreamtotheclient,andthecli
entsendsnofurthermessagestothe
serveruntiltheuserdisconnects.Atdisconnecttime,theclientsendsa
messagetotheserverrequestingthatnomoredatabesent.
PushOnly
Theaudiostream,inthisinstance,isinitiatedbythesender.Theuserspecifies
theclienttowhichtosendth
estream,andthedataissentwithoutany
negotiation.Theclientdecodestheaudioitissent,buthasnocontrolover
whenitstartsorstops.Thestreammustbedisconnectedbythesendsideuser.
Bidirectional
Usessomecombinationoftheabovetoinitiateastreaminbothdi
rections.The
userateitherendcaninitiatetheconnection,andthesoftwarewillnegotiate
boththepushandthepullinvolved.Eitherend'susercanlikewisedisconnect
thecall.
