Troubleshooting
Trouble Indication User Response
The FAX Attendant fails to
accept fax messages via
either Fax Mail or Fax Call
Answer.
This is much the same problem as the
previous one, except that the make/model
of a fax machine is not likely the cause.
(Fax machines must be Group 3
machines.)
Calls to the FAX Attendant
are not answered.
1. The voice system is not turned on.
2. Be sure all voice channels that are to
receive calls are assigned a service.
3. Call each voice channel directly (not
through a calling group) to determine
if the problem is restricted to a
specific channel or card.
a. One or more channels on a
voice card may be defective.
b. One or more of the lines
connected to the voice
channels is dead.
c. Ensure each voice channel is
associated with the correct
extension number. This
information is administered
through Voice Equipment
under Configuration
Management.
4. If the problem only occurs when calls
are made to a calling group (as
opposed to calling each voice line
directly), the problem is likely to be
incorrect administration of the calling
group (i.e., switch administration).
