This option is used to definethe second ben dingmoment behavior of be ams. It can be used only in conjunction
with the

BEAM GENERAL SECTION, SECTION=NONLINEAR GENERA L option and is needed only
for beam s in space.

BEAM G ENERAL SECTION
Optional parameters (if neither ELASTIC nor LINEAR is included, elastic-plastic response is
assumed):
DEPENDENCIES
Set this param eter equal to the num ber of field variable dependencies included in the
moment–curvature relationship, in addition to temperature. If this parameter is omitted, it is
assumed that the mom ent–curvature relationship is consta nt or depends only on temperature.

ELASTIC
Include this parameter if the bending moment–curvature relationship is nonlinear but elastic.
LINEAR
Include this parameter if the bending moment varies linearly with curvature.
Data lines if the LINEAR parame ter is included:
First line:
1. Bending stiffness of the section about the second beam section local axis.
2. Temperature.
3. First field variable.
4. Second field variable.
5. Etc., up to six field variables.
