Backing Up System Programming
NOTE:
When upgrading from a networked Release 6.0 system, the non-local dial
plan extension ranges must be manually programmed to suit the
customer’s configuration.
Backing Up System Programming
NOTE:
You cannot upgrade system programming for the MERLIN II
Communications System;
it must be reprogrammed.
To upgrade a
MERLIN II Communications System, see “Upgrading from the MERLIN II
Communications System,” later in this chapter.
Use the following procedure to back up programming from Release 6.1
or earlier:
!Install SPM.
!Back up system programming.

System Programming and Maintenance
(SPM)

To back up system programming from Release 1.0 or 1.1
, you can
use any version of SPM (1.16 is recommended).
■
To back up system programming from Release 2.0
, you must use
SPM version 2.09 or higher.
■
To back up system programming from Release 2.1
, you must use
SPM version 2.16 or higher.
■
To back up system programming from Release 3.0 or 3.1
, you
must use SPM version 3.18 or higher.
■
To back up system programming from Release 4.0
, you must use
SPM version 4.15 or higher.
■
To back up system programming from Release 4.0, 4.1, or 4.2
,
you must use SPM version 4.25 or higher.
