To configure the authentication type, follow these steps:
Procedure
Step 1 Click the Network Security tab.
Step 2 Choose one of the following security settings:
Open-key—Click the Open radio button to enable security between the AP
and the phone.
Shared-key—Click the Shared Key radio button to enable security between
the AP and phone.
Note You must have set up the static WEP Key encryption type prior to
selecting Shared key for authentication type.
LEAP—Click the LEAP radio button to activate the LEAP setup fields.
Specify an authorized username and password for the network access server
(RADIUS server).
Note The maximum length for each username or password is 32 characters.
Step 3 Choose File > Save to save the changes.
Encryption
Before you select the Open or Shared Key authentication type, you must set up
the encryption schemes by using the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) keys. Both
the Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 and the Cisco Aironet APs support 40-bit and
128-bit encryption keys. You configure the WEP key by using hexidecimal
characters.
If you do not use WEP encryption in the network, then choose None.
