Intercom Calling
Description Allows an extension user to call another extension user within the
system.
Conditions • Extension numbers are assigned to all extensions by system
programming.
• Names can be given to extension numbers by system programming. An
extension number and a name, if programmed, will be shown on the
display PT during an intercom call.
• DSS buttons permit one-touch access to an extension and provide the
Busy Lamp Field.
• After dialing an extension number, the user will hear one of the
following.
Ringback tone: indicates the other extension is being called.
Busy tone: indicates the other extension is busy.
Do Not Disturb tone: indicates the other extension has assigned
DND.
• A proprietary telephone user can select one of the Intercom Alert modes,
Voice Call or Tone Call. Voice Call informs the called party of an
incoming call with the calling party’s voice, while Tone Call uses a ring
tone. The calling party can only switch the pre-set mode at the called
extension, from Voice Call to Tone Call.
