MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Using the Script Menu
Entering the BT Address of the EUT
The address of the equipment under test can be entered manually from the keyboard,
acquired by performing an inquiry, or obtained through the RS232 HCI port. For the
MT8852A, the address can also be acquired through the USB HCI port.
1. With the Script menu displayed, press the
[EUT addr] soft key.
The EUT address screen is displayed.
At power up when the source is RS232, "No address" will be displayed.
2. Press the
[Update] soft key to display the EUT.
To change the source and enter the address:
1. Select “Source” and press the key to switch between RS232, Manual,
Inquiry, and USB (MT8852A only).

For manual, press the [Update] soft key and enter the hexadecimal address for EUT
from the keypad. Alternatively, choose the Address field, press the Select key and
enter the hexadecimal address for EUT from the keypad.

For Inquiry, press the [Update] soft key to initiate the Inquiry.
Note: If the number of responses for the inquiry is set to 1, the MT8850A/MT8852A
will automatically connect to the first device that responds.
4. Press the [Stop] soft key to halt the Inquiry.
The Inquiry completed screen is displayed.
The Common name is the user friendly name truncated to fit the line on the screen.
You can restart the Inquiry using the
[Restart] soft key.
5. Choose the address required and press the
key to enter the address.
