MT8850A / MT8852A Bluetooth Test Set Using the Script Menu
Testing in Single Payload Script Mode
In single payload mode the MT8850A/MT8852A sends a single test control to put the EUT
into the specified state, and no further test controls are sent. When single payload mode is
specified, an additional “single payload edit” line displays on the screen. Move the cursor
to the word [Edit] and press the
key. The required settings to enable each test
are detailed in the test procedures below.
Output Power Test (Single Payload Mode)
The MT8850A/MT8852A can perform the test using either loopback test controls or TX
test controls. The default for this test is to use loopback. The following test description is
described using the default test control.
The MT8850A/MT8852A transmits a pseudo random data payload (PRBS 9) of the
longest supported type (DH5, DH3 or DH1) or the selected packet type, to the EUT. The
EUT loops back the data at its maximum output power and the MT8850A/MT8852A
measures the received power.
1. Refer to the settings below to enable the output power test in the script menu.
Test control: TX or Loopback
Payload: Any
Packet type: Any
Hopping mode: On or Off
2. Choose “Output power” from the Script menu.
3. Press the
key to select or deselect this test from the script routine.
4. If a test is selected, the box will be filled in. If not selected the box will be hollow.
5. Press the
[Setup] soft key.
6. The Output power test limits screen is displayed.
7. Press the
[Defaults] soft key to restore the default values.
8. Choose the limit you want to change.
9. Press the
key and enter the new limit using the keypad.
10. Press the
[Enter] soft key.
11. Press the
key to return to the Script menu.
Power control test (single payload mode)
The power control test is not supported in single payload mode.
