Frequently Asked Questions
If you encounter a problem with your Palm™ VersaMail™ personal e-mail
software, do not call technical support until you have reviewed the frequently
asked questions in this appendix and you have also reviewed the following:
■ This handbook
■ The electronic handbook that came with your handheld
■ The Palm Knowledge Library, accessible at www.palm.com/support in the
Support section
If you are still having problems, contact technical support. To assist in the timely
resolution of your problems, please have the following information available prior
to calling:
■ The protocol used for incoming mail, such as POP or IMAP
■ The name of the incoming mail server
■ The name of the outgoing mail (SMTP) server
■ Whether your e-mail account requires any security, such as SSL, APOP, or
ESMTP
■ Your e-mail address and password
■ The login script (if any) that you need for connecting to your ISP or mail server
Depending on the type of e-mail service you have, you may be able to access this
information by going to the e-mail provider’s web site or by contacting the
provider’s customer support.
