5230 IP Appliance User Guide
To receive a call in handsfree mode
1. Press the
key. OR Tap the flashing line button (docked PDA only).
The
key lights up to indicate the handsfree microphone is on.
To end a call in handsfree mode
1. Press the
, the key, or the Cancel button on the PDA. The key turns off
to indicate the handsfree microphone is off.
To disable the handsfree microphone (muting the call)
1. While on a handsfree call, press the key. Your party can no longer hear you, and
the light turns off.
To re-enable the handsfree microphone
1. Press the key. Your party can hear you again, and the light turns on.
Headset Operation
To make a call using the headset
1. Put on the headset (if needed, reconnect the quick-connect plug).
2. If it is not already set, activate the headset with the Headset On Feature Key (see
“Headset” on page 30).
3. Dial the desired number.
To receive a call using the headset
1. Put on the headset (if needed, reconnect the quick-connect plug).
2. If it is not already set, activate the headset with the Headset On Feature Key (see
“Headset” on page 30).
3. Start talking to your party.
To end a call in headset mode
1. Press the
key, or the Cancel button on the PDA.
Note: We recommend you disable your headset before removing your PDA from the
5230 IP Appliance. If you do not, you may have problems making calls without the
PDA.
Note: You can set the Headset On feature to automatically disable your headset
when you undock your PDA, but you will have to re-enable your headset the next time
you dock your PDA (see “Headset” on page 30 for more information).
