B12. Resetting the Inplane Number
Start a Maintenance Session. Press 4(Phone #) and then press 1
(Inplane). The Inplane number that had been assigned to the handset
is now available for reassignment.
Once a handsets Inplane number has been reset the handset cannot
receive Inplane calls until another number has been assigned.
B13. Setting an Inplane Label
In addition to assigning Inplane numbers to digital handsets they can
also be named.
Start a Maintenance Session. Press 4(Phone #) and then press 1
(Inplane) followed by + (More). This label will be listed with its
corresponding assigned inplane number on the calling partys screen
for inplane calls. It will also appear on the called partys screen for
inplane call waiting and the Call Forwardingsetup screen.
To receive on-screen instructions for entering the 8-character alpha-
numeric label associated with the assigned inplane number press 0
(Help).
There are four different character lists: punctuation characters, upper
case letters, lower case letters, and digits. By pressing 5you may
switch between the various lists.
To move up a list (A-Z, a-z, 0-9) press 6.To move down a list (Z-A,
z-a, 9-0) press 4.
To move the cursor to the next label space press *(Cursor). If you
need to return to a previous label space continue to press *(Cursor).
To accept the label and return to the previous menu, press # (OK).
B14. Call Waiting
(This is a System Function)
Start a Maintenance Session and then press 4(Phone #). Press 4
(Enable/Disable) again to enable/disable Call Waiting.
If the Enableoption is selected and the called handset on the aircraft
is already busy with another call, the called party will hear a Call
Waitingtone. The called partys handset screen will also indicate an
incoming call. The Call Waiting tone is a double beep for inplane
calls (see Section II, D) and a single beep for ground-to-air calls (see
Sections II, H and IV, C).
