V. HF Radio Service Connection
The MagnaStar C-2000 system can be connected to an HF Radio
to provide access to that communications medium from the cabin
handsets. The connection can be made directly, or through the aircraft
audio panel. The push-to-talk (PTT) function required by the radio
is voice activated, eliminating the need for cumbersome PTT buttons
on the handsets. To use the system in this mode, the HF channel
selection and setup (and audio routing in the aircraft audio panel,
if so congured) is performed separately from the C-2000 system.
A. Placing an HF Radio Call
From the handset main menu, press 7 (HF Radio) to select that
link option. The handset is now connected to the HF Radio. When
the call is completed, press End Call or place the handset on-hook
to disconnect the C-2000 system from the HF Radio.
After HF Radio is selected,
the Call in Progress screen
is displayed.
