USING DO-NOT-DISTURB MODE
Placing your phone in do-not-disturb halts all pages and calls to your phone (except
for queue callbacks, recalls, and direct ring-in calls). Other users calling your phone
hear a repeating signal of four fast tones. If they have a display, they also see the do-
not-disturb message you have selected. There can be up to 20 different do-not-disturb
messages in your telephone system. They can be changed by the System Administra-
tor, installer, or programmer. Your trainer or System Administrator will give you a list
of do-not-disturb messages for your system. You can list them here for your conve-
nience:
To enable do-not-disturb:
—Press .
— Dial the desired two-digit number for the message you wish to use OR press the
up or down arrow of the Volume key to scroll through the messages.
— If desired, customize the second display line by dialing the desired numbers or
letters as described below:
• Remain in numeric mode (MSG key unlit): Press the keypad keys to dial the
desired numbers. Press for a hyphen (-), press for a colon (:), press
the FWD key to leave a space, or press the MUTE key to backspace.
• Change to alphanumeric mode (MSG key unlit): Press the MSG key, and
then press the keypad keys to enter the desired characters. (Refer to the chart
on page 25.) The number of times a key is pressed determines which charac-
ter is entered. For example, 33377744432999 enters “FRIDAY.” When
adjoining characters are located under the same key, press the FWD key once
to advance to the next character. For example, 6 FWD 666 FWD 6632999
enters “MONDAY.” (Note that letters correspond to the letters printed on the
keys.) Press the FWD key twice to leave a space. Press the MUTE key if you
need to backspace.
—Press the SPKR key OR lift and replace the handset.
