Setting Up Your CLIE Handheld
Locking your CLIE handheld with
passwords
You can lock your CLIE handheld with a password to protect information.
You must then enter the password when you turn on your CLIE handheld to
gain access to the information on it.
Notes
• When your CLIE handheld had been locked, you must enter the correct password to
restart.
• If you forgot the password, you must perform a hard reset to resume. Performing a hard
reset deletes all records on your CLIE handheld. (You can restore all data that was
backed up on the computer using HotSync.)
1 Back up the data on your CLIE handheld using HotSync.

2 Assign a password, as described in “Assigning a password”
on page 197.
3 Tap the Home icon and select “System” from the drop-
down list in the upper-right corner.
The “System” screen appears.
