Using Memory Stick media Applications
Managing Data (Memory Stick Gate)
Using Memory Stick media
This new compact, portable, and versatile IC recording medium has a data
capacity exceeding that of a floppy disk. The media is specially designed
for exchanging and sharing digital data with compatible products. Because
it is removable, the media can be used for external data storage.
You will find it easy to exchange data between several CLIE handhelds, or
by using a Memory Stick
TM
media, between your computer and a CLIE
handheld. The supplied software, Memory Stick Gate (MS Gate), is used to
exchange Memory Stick media data for your CLIE handheld.
Notes on a MagicGate Memory Stick media
The CLIE handheld does not support MagicGate Memory Stick media
(MagicGate Memory Stick is for copyright-protected files, e.g., audio files).
If you attempt to insert a MagicGate Memory Stick media into the Memory
Stick slot and operate by using MS Gate or Windows
®
Explorer, the
copyright protected files or directories may be permanently damaged or
corrupted.
Use a device that supports the MagicGate Memory Stick media such as a
Memory Stick Walkman
®
, or a Sony VAIO
®
notebook with software such
as OpenMG
TM
Jukebox.
To insert/remove a Memory Stick media
Insert the Memory Stick media into the Memory Stick slot with the arrow
facing up and toward the slot.
Note
Insert the Memory Stick media in the right direction. If the Memory Stick media is forced
in the wrong way, it may be damaged.
The Memory Stick indicator
lights orange when you have
inserted the Memory Stick
media
