server to correspond to the network location in which you intend to
install the server.
6 Shut down the secondary server and disconnect all cabling.
7 Move the secondary server to its final location and reconnect it to power
and to the network segment on which they will operate.
8 Start the secondary server and wait for approximately 5 minutes for the
boot process to be completed.
Installing a License Key
VCX Connect 100 and VCX Connect 200 servers come from the factory
with pre-installed licenses to support:
25 telephone users
25 voice mailboxes
If you have fewer that 25 telephones and 25 voice mailboxes on your
primary VCX Connect server, the default license key on the secondary
server will match the primary and you need not obtain an additional
license key.
If you obtained and installed additional licenses on the primary VCX
Connect server, you must obtain and install an additional license key on
the secondary VCX Connect server. The license key must:
Correspond to the machineid of the secondary server
Match the license key on the primary server, in terms of the number of
telephone users and voice mailboxes.

Changing Default Passwords
To change the default passwords for the app, cworks, oracle, root,
tomcat, and vcx accounts, log in to the root account on the server and
run the
vcx-reconfigure script. Accept the default answers for all
prompts that are not related to passwords, and, when prompted for the
account passwords, change the default values.
Configuring the Media Gateways
For a VCX Connect 100 server, the media gateways are located within the
same chassis as the VCX Connect server. Use this default IP address to
access the media gateways in the VCX Connect servers:
