Operating Your Aastra IP Phone Using the Phone UI
Setting Audio (not available on 51i)
The Set Audio option on the IP Phone allows you to set the audio mode for your
IP phone. It also allows you to set the volume level of the headset microphone.
The following paragraphs provide procedures for setting audio features on your
phone.
Setting Audio Mode (not available on 51i)
Your IP phone allows you to use a handset, a headset, or handsfree (speaker
phone) to handle incoming and outgoing calls. You can use the Audio Mode
setting to combine different options in order to provide maximum flexibility when
handling calls.
You can choose from four Audio Modes:
Audio Mode Description
Speaker Allows you to switch between using the handset and the handsfree speaker phone.
This is the default setting.
If you specify Speaker mode for your IP phone:
• Press to use the speakerphone.
• Lift the handset to switch back to using the handset.
Headset Allows you to switch between using a handset and a headset.
If you specify Headset mode for your IP phone:
• Press to use the headset.
• Lift the handset to switch back to using the handset.
