6 Getting Connected

To pair with a Bluetooth device:
1. Make sure that the handheld and the Bluetooth device you want to pair with are
within five meters of each other, and that Bluetooth is in Discoverable mode on
both devices.
2. Tap the Bluetooth icon in the Today screen and then tap Bluetooth Manager.
3. The Bluetooth Manager appears. Tap
Menu and then select Paired Devices.
4. Tap
Add.
5. To create a new pairing, tap the Lookup icon
beside the Device field. The handheld searches for
other Bluetooth devices and displays them in the
Bluetooth Browser.
6. Tap the name of the device you want to pair with.
7. In the Passkey field, enter a passkey of between 1
and 16 characters and then tap the Enter key on
the keyboard.
8. Enter the same PIN on the other device.
9. In the Bluetooth Manager, tap
OK.
Setting up a connection to a Bluetooth-enabled device
To connect the handheld as a client device to another Bluetooth-enabled device, set up
a connection to the device in the Bluetooth manager.
Note – Trimble recommends that you pair with a Bluetooth-enabled device before
connecting to the device. For more information, see Pairing with a Bluetooth-enabled
device, page 63.
To set up the connection:
1. Tap the Bluetooth icon in the Today screen
and then tap Bluetooth Manager.
2. Tap
New.
3. The Bluetooth Connection wizard displays a list of
tasks that you may want to achieve using the host
device. Tap the task you want to complete.
4. Complete the steps in the wizard to configure the
connection to the host device.
