Powering On the Cisco VG224 Voice Gateway
To power on your Cisco VG224 voice gateway, perform the following tasks in the order listed, as
required:
Checklist for Power-On, page 4-1
Power-On Procedure, page 4-1
Initial Configuration Procedures, page 4-2
Troubleshooting, page 4-4
Checklist for Power-On
You can power on a Cisco VG224 voice gateway if it meets the requirements described in Chapter 3,
“Installing the Cisco VG224 Voice Gateway”:
The chassis is securely mounted.
Power cable is connected.
Interface cables are connected.
Power-On Procedure
Perform this procedure to power on your Cisco VG224 voice gateway and verify that it goes through its
initialization and self-test. When this is finished, the Cisco VG224 voice gateway is ready to configure.
To power on the Cisco VG224 voice gateway, follow this procedure:
Step 1
Power on your terminal or PC, and configure it for 9600 bps, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no parity.
Step 2
Move the Cisco VG224 voice gateway power switch to the ON position.
The green LED next to the auxiliary port should come on and the fan should operate. If this does not
happen, see the
“Troubleshooting” section on page 4-4.
The following message is displayed at the end of the boot-up messages:
