Receiving Calls, Supporting Multiple Calls and Multiple Lines and Using Hold, Conference, Transfer
The IP telephone provides advanced calling functionality. For example, it can support multiple calls on a
single line. It can also support multiple lines.
Receiving Calls
Calls will come into the phone on the first available line. When a call is incoming, the associated line button
will flash and the phone will ring. Pick up the handset to start the conversation. If there are multiple lines
ringing, the user will need to select the line that they would like to answer. At the end of the call, hang up
the handset to disconnect the call.
Multiple Calls
The phone can support simultaneous multiple calls. To support multiple simultaneous calls, the user must
use the hold and/or conference features.
Hold
The user can support multiple calls by using the hold features. The 1
st
call can be put on hold by pressing
the “hold” button, which is labeled in the figure below as “Hold”. The hold button has a “hand” symbol
above the button. After the hold button is pressed, the line is placed on hold and the user can answer the
2
nd
line. The line on hold will, by default, flash red. When the user wants to resume the 1
st
call, then press
the line button associated with the 1
st
call. If the 2
nd
call is still in progress it will automatically go into “hold”
state when the 1
st
call goes active.
