Setting up the SDC 8000 system
This chapter provides information on how to set up and operate the
SDC 8000 conference and interpretation system.
Preparing the SDC 8000 system components for set up
Conference and interpreter consoles
After unpacking the consoles, you simply have to connect them to the
central unit and initialize them.
Central unit
̈ Connect the mains cable to socket ƿ.
̈ Connect the mains cable to the mains (100 – 240 V, 50 – 60 Hz).
Fixing the central unit feet
To ensure that the cell transmitter cannot slip on the surface on which it is
placed, four self-adhesive soft feet are supplied.
Note:
Do not use these feet if rack-mounting the cell transmitter.
̈ Ensure that the base of the central unit is clean and free from grease
before mounting the feet.
̈ Fix the feet to the base of the central unit by peeling off the safety
paper and fitting them as shown in the diagram on the left.
Attention!
Some furniture surfaces have been treated with varnish, polish or
synthetics which might become stained when they come into contact
with other synthetics. Despite a thorough testing of the synthetics
used by us, we cannot rule out the possibility of staining, since we don’t
know your furniture.
Rack-mounting several central units
For larger conference and interpretation systems with several central
units, we recommend mounting the central units into a rack.
̈ Mount the central unit into a 19" rack and fix it to the rack by means of
four screws.
Attention!
Some furniture surfaces have been treated with varnish, polish or
synthetics which might cause stains when they come into contact with
