Hunt Groups
The Hunt Group feature allows the system to distribute calls made to a specific
"pilot" number or to any member of a defined group based on the specified hunting
order. If you have a phone with a display, you will see either the caller ID for the call
or the hunt group name, depending on how your hunt group is configured.
Your system administrator or manager should tell you if you are a member of a hunt
group, who the other members are, and what should appear on your phone’s
display, if you have a display.
This feature allows you to wait for a busy outgoing line to become available.
When you try to make an external call and all outgoing lines are unavailable, you
will hear a recorded announcement.
Hold for a line to become available.
When a line becomes available, the system automatically dials the
external number for you.
Indicated Call Park
You may have an Indicated Call Park button on your phone that is labeled IC Park.
You will only have an IC Park button if your system administrator has assigned it to
your phone.
There are predefined extensions (5100-5125) assigned to be used exclusively for
parking calls.
Each user’s phone can be assigned an IC Park button for a certain line. A user may
have multiple IC Park buttons on their phone for several park lines. For example,
some users may have an IC Park button for line 5100, while another set of users
has IC Park buttons for line 5101. The receptionist may have two IC Park buttons,
one for line 5100 and one for line 5101.
You can park a call by just pressing the IC Park button. This will cause the IC Park
buttons to blink on all of the phones that have an IC Park button for that same line.
The users who see the blinking IC Park button may pick up the call by pressing the
IC Park button.
If you do not have a button on your phone, you can still pick up the call by dialing
the number where it is parked (5100 for example).
If you park a call, the phone will emit a short ring after 1 minute to remind you that
the call is still parked.
