2.4.7 Answering a Call Waiting
During a conversation, a call waiting tone or voice announcement through the speaker or the handset
occurs when an outside call is received or another extension is letting you know another call is
waiting. To activate this feature, refer to 2.8.3 Receiving a Call Waiting (Call Waiting/Off-Hook Call
Announcement [OHCA]/Whisper OHCA). (Default: No tone) You can answer the second call by
disconnecting the current call or placing it on hold.
To talk to the new party
Depending on the other party's telephone, the "Off-Hook Call Announcement (OHCA)"
and the "Whisper OHCA" functions can be applied. You can talk to the other party through
the speaker and the microphone (OHCA) or you only receive a call announcement through
the handset (Whisper OHCA), while they are having another conversation using the
handset.
The calling extension's name or number is displayed for 5 seconds in 10 second intervals
before answering a call.
As far as it is an intercom, Intelligent Call Handling 1:1 or 1:N call, ISDN extension users
can receive a call when (1) both channels of ISDN extension port are used for conversation,
and (2) there is no held call at the ISDN extension port.
The user can answer the call by disconnecting the current call or placing it on hold.
However, when answering the call by placing the current call on hold, the user cannot
transfer nor make a conference involving the held call. When there is a call on wait, no new
call can be made by placing the current call on hold.
For any further operating information, refer to the instruction manual of your ISDN
extension.
