Exchanging Messages
E-mail Setup Wizard
Before you can send and receive e-mails, you need to set up your e-mail
account on your device. The wizard lets you easily add your company
Outlook e-mail, POP3, and IMAP4 accounts, as well as any web-based
accounts such as Gmail®, Yahoo!® Mail Plus, AOL®, and more.
To set up your POP3 or IMAP4 e-mail account
Set up a POP3 or IMAP4 e-mail account on your device if you have an e-
mail account with an Internet service provider (ISP) or an account that you
access using a VPN server connection (typically a work account).
1. Tap Start > Messaging > New E-mail Account.
2. Enter your E-mail address, then tap Next.
Note Auto configuration attempts to download necessary e-mail
server settings so that you do not need to enter them
manually. To allow Auto configuration to connect to the
internet, obtain e-mail server settings (If possible) and enter
this information automatically for you. For information that
addresses your privacy concerns, tap Privacy Statement.
3. Once Auto configuration has finished, tap Next.
Note If Auto conguration was unsuccessful, tap Next to for manual
setup.
4. Enter your name and account display name (the name you want
displayed when you send e-mail), tap Next.
5. Enter your Incoming mail server and Account type.
If unsure, please check with your provider to get POP/IMAP settings.
6. Enter your user name and password, tap Next.
Note Select the Save password check box if you want to save your
password so that you do not need to enter it again.
7. Enter Outgoing (SMTP) mail server, tap Next.
• Check Outgoing server requires authentication check box, if you
need.
• Check Use the same usernam and password for sending e-mail
