Two (Tandem) Line Connection
Using a [DN] Button
This feature enables you to connect two lines, then drop out of the conversation.
➤ To connect two outside lines (using a [DN] button)
1. Press
&QI7UQ while
talking to an external party
on a [DN] button.
You hear dial tone, the [DN] LED flashes at the
conference rate.
2. Dial a line access code and
then the external telephone
number of the other party
(see “Access Codes” on
Page 90).
Ask your System
Administrator for the
proper code to be used for
this type of call.
3. Press
&QI7UQ after the
party answers.
The [DN] LED lights steady and all parties are
conferenced.
Press [DN] and then
&QI
7UQ
to return to the
original call if you receive
a busy tone/no answer.
You hear dial tone and the [DN] LED flashes at
the exclusive-hold rate.
4. Press
&QI7UQ and
hang-up.
The [DN] LED continues to flash at the
exclusive-hold rate and the two lines are
connected. The LED turns off when the external
parties hang up.
5. Press
7$/.. If the public telephone company provides auto
disconnect, the connection may release
automatically when the parties hang up. If not,
the lines must be supervised to be disconnected.
