Tips on Extending Battery Pack Life
Battery Memory Effect
All rechargeable nickel cadmium batteries can develop a “memory” (reduced charge
capacity) caused by repeated charge and discharge cycles. Batteries that have
developed this effect do not operate to their fullest capacity.
To avoid memory effect
Operate the unit until the battery pack is completely discharged before recharging.
For example, use the handset off the base all day. Only replace the handset on the
base at night after a full day of use. Do not “top off” the charge after using the
battery for a short time.
To erase memory effect
Operate the unit until the battery pack is completely discharged, then recharge it
fully. Repeat this process at least three times.
LCD Low Battery Indicator
When the battery pack in the handset is low and needs to be
charged you see this message on the display and the handset
beeps.
Low Battery Symptoms
To restore your battery capacity, return the handset to the base unit for charging or
replace the handset battery pack with another charged one.
