♦ Do not use the battery charger in direct sunlight or in
high humidity areas (such as a bathroom).
♦ When a battery charger is not in use, disconnect it from
the power source.
♦ Never dispose of the battery by incineration (fire).
♦ Keep the metal contacts at the battery base clean.
♦ Do not attempt to disassemble or short-circuit the
battery, as injuries or burns may result.
♦ You may need to recharge the battery if it has not been
used for a long period of time.
♦ Replace the battery when it no longer provides
acceptable performance. It can be charged hundreds of
times before it will need to be replaced.
♦ Do not allow metal objects or liquids to contact or short-
circuit the battery terminals, as injuries or burns may
result.
♦ To avoid damage, store the battery in temperatures
ranging from -4° F to 185° F, and avoid leaving the battery
unused for very long periods. Follow these storage rules:
♦Less than one month:
-4° F to 140° F (-20° C to 50° C)
♦ More than one month:
-4° F to 113° F (-20° C to 35° C)

Please follow these guidelines when disposing of or recycling
the battery:
♦ Do not dispose of the battery in a fire; the cell may
explode. You must follow the regulations in your area
regarding disposal of batteries.
♦ Do not open or puncture the battery; the released
electrolyte is corrosive and may cause damage to the eyes
and skin, and can be toxic if swallowed.
♦ Charge the battery in accordance with the instructions
specified in this user guide (see “Charging the Battery”
on page 14).
