11.8.2 Transmitting a Position Request to Another Vessel
Using Pre-Programmed Vessel
1. Press the

2. Turn the CHANNEL selector knob to select

key to show the Position Request
Directory. This directory uses the Individual Di-
rectory information.
4. Turn the CHANNEL selector knob to select a
name, then press the
[
ENT
]
key.
5. Press the
[
ENT
]
key again to transmit the Po-
sition Request DSC call.
6. When the FM-4000 receives the position from
the polled vessel it is shown on the radio dis-
play and also transferred to the GPS chart plot-
ter.
NOTE
If the FM-4000 does not receive position data from the polled vessel,
the LCD shows “NO POSITION DATA.”
Manual Request
You may enter an MMSI number manually to request the position of a vessel
that is not registered in the Setting up the Individual / Position Call Directory.
1. Press the
