Troubleshooting
My cordless
handset isn’t
performing
normally
• Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the
telephone base. Plug the unit into a different, working
electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch.
• Move the cordless handset closer to the telephone base.
You might have moved out of range.
• Reset the telephone base. Unplug the unit’s electrical
power. Wait for 15 seconds then plug it back in.
Allow up to one minute for the cordless handset and
telephone base to reset.
• Other electronic products can cause interference to
your cordless phone. Try installing your phone as far
away from these types of electronic devices as possible:
television sets, VCRs, or other cordless telephones.
Eliminate any background noise. Noise from a television,
radio or other appliances may cause the phone to not
dial out properly. If you cannot eliminate the background
noise, first try muting the cordless handset before
dialing, or dialing from another room in your home with
less background noise.
If the other phones in your home are having the same
problem, the problem is in your wiring or local service.
Contact your local telephone company (charges may
apply).
Calls are cut
off
• If you are on a call during an AC power failure, (usingIf you are on a call during an AC power failure, (using
the backup base batteries,) and AC power returns, the
call will be ended. Detach the AC power cord before
making or answering calls to avoid this problem. Be
sure to plug it back in when power is restored.
• If a power failure happens during a call on the cordlessIf a power failure happens during a call on the cordless
handset or on speakerphone mode, the call will be
disconnected immediately. You can still make and
receive calls with limited functions if backup batteries
are installed (see page 5).
