■ Configuring the codec
You can select a codec from the following options.
• G.711 Extension
• G.711 µ-law
•G.726-40
•G.726-32
•G.726-24
See “Specifications” (page 53) for details about the
frequency response and the transmission bandwidth for
each codec.
Using the keys on this unit
In the initial display, select “Menu” → “Settings” →
“Sound Settings” → “CODEC”.
Using the web menu
In the web menu, select “CODEC”.
■ Configuring the codec line adaptation
This unit selects the optimum codec for the current
network situations automatically when this parameter is
set to “Enable” (default setting). Select “Disable” to fix
the codec to the one you select using the “CODEC”
parameter.
Using the keys on this unit
In the initial display, select “Menu” → “Settings” →
“Sound Settings” → “CODEC Line Adapt”.
Using the web menu
In the web menu, select “CODEC Line Adapt”.
■ Configuring the silence suppression
setting
You can suppress packet output when no sound is input at
the microphone of this unit.
Select “Disable” to deactivate this function. The default
setting is “Enable”.
Using the keys on this unit
In the initial display, select “Menu” → “Settings” →
“Sound Settings” → “Silence Suppress”.
Using the web menu
In the web menu, select “Silence Suppression”.
■ Adjusting the ring tone volume
You can adjust the ring tone volume by press VOL +/–.
Using the keys on this unit
In the initial display, select “Menu” → “Settings”
→“General Settings” → “Ring Volume”.
■ Configuring the backlight off setting
Select the time until this unit turns off the backlight
automatically when it is not engaged in a call, from
“Disable” (not to switch to standby mode), “3 minutes”,
“5 minutes” ,“10 minutes” and “30 minutes”. The default
setting is “Disable”.

In the initial display, select “Menu” → “Settings”
→“General Settings” → “Auto Standby”.
Using the web menu
In the web menu, select “Auto Standby”.
■ Adjusting the LCD contrast
You can adjust the contrast of the display by press
VOL +/–
.

In the initial display, select “Menu” → “Settings”
→“General Settings” → “LCD Contrast”.
■ Selecting the SNTP server for
synchronization
If you want to adjust the time automatically by
synchronizing this unit with a SNTP server, enter the
name or IP address of the desired SNTP server. See
“Setting Date and Time” (page 37) for details.
Using the web menu
In the web menu, select “SNTP Server”.
■ Selecting the SNTP synchronization
interval
If you want to adjust the time automatically by
synchronizing this unit with a SNTP server, specify the
synchronization interval in minutes. See “Setting Date and
Time” (page 37) for details.

In the web menu, select “SNTP Synchronization Interval”.
