Troubleshooting
B Is your CLIÉ handheld properly connected with the plug adapter and the
USB cable?
B Is there sufficient memory space in your CLIÉ handheld?
Delete any unnecessary data/files and then perform the HotSync
®
operation
again.
B Are you using the same user name that is used for another CLIÉ handheld?
Change the user name.
Verifying your computer
B Is Palm
Desktop for CLIÉ installed?
B Is the operating system on your computer compatible?
The following operating systems are compatible with your CLIÉ handheld.
Operating systems other than the following are not supported.
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
Microsoft Windows Me
Microsoft Windows XP
Note
Upgraded versions of the operating systems listed above are also not supported.
B If you are using Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP, log in as an
“Administrator”.
B Is the USB cable properly connected to your computer?
B Is (HotSync) displayed in the task tray (Notification area) at the bottom
right of your computer window?
If not, click [Start], select [Programs] ([All Programs] for Windows XP)-
[Sony Handheld], and click [HotSync Manager] to start HotSync
Manager.
B Is [Local USB] in the shortcut menu selected? (You can display this by
clicking (HotSync) in the task tray (Notification area) at the bottom
right of your computer window.)
If not, select [Local USB].
