Telephone operation
Options while on calls
Volume control
Press VOLUME keys on the side of the handset
to adjust listening volume. Each press of the but-
ton increases or decreases the volume.
When you change the volume level, the new set-
ting is saved.
Call waiting
If you subscribe to call waiting service with your
local telephone company, there will be a beep if
there is an incoming call while on a call. Press
PHONE/FLASH to put your current call on hold
and take the new call. You can press PHONE/FLASH
anytime to alternate between calls.
Multiple handset use
During a call, a person at another handset can
press PHONE/FLASH or SPEAKER to join the
conversation.
The person on either handset can press OFF/CLEAR
,
or place the handset in the telephone base or char-
ger to drop out of the call, but the call will not be
terminated until all handsets hang up.
NOTE: All four handsets can be used simultaneously,
however only two can be used on one type of call at a
time. For example, two handsets can be used on an out
side call, while the other two handsets can be used on
an intercom call at the same time.
Mute
Press MUTE/DELETE to silence the microphone.
When mute is on, MUTED will be shown temporar-
ily on the handset screen, then MUTE will remain
on the screen. You will be able to hear the caller,
but your caller will not be able to hear you until
you press MUTE/DELETE again and resume speak-
ing. When mute is turned off, MICROPHONE ON
will show temporarily on the handset screen.
NOTES:
1. All volume settings, (nor-
mal, speakerphone, and
headset) are independent.
2. When you try to increase
the maximum volume or
decrease the minimum
volume, you will hear two
beeps
