13. Appendix C: Installing the Open
Applications Interface (OAI) Telephony
Gateway
The OAI Telephony Gateway (MOG 500) allows the Link 150 M3 MCU to interface
with an application server as shown in the diagram below. This enables third-party
applications to communicate directly with the Link 150 M3 MCU, allowing users to
retrieve and respond to information using Wireless Telephones. A single OAI Telephony
Gateway can be connected to a Link 150 Master Control Unit (MCU) using an IPC cable
(8-conductor cable with RJ-45 connectors)..
13.1 Before Installing the OAI Telephony Gateway
If this is a new system installation, secure the OAI Telephony Gateway to the wall, power
up and test the Telephony Gateway when the MCUs are tested. Connect the OAI
Telephony Gateway to the MCU after the Base Stations are installed.
If you are adding the OAI Telephony Gateway to an existing system, the system will
need to be shut down and re-set to install the OAI Telephony Gateway. Notify users that
the system will be out of service during the installation.
