. The CHARGE indicator blinks.
2. Enter the number (up to 20 digits) and any tone mode
changes or pause entries (see “Tone Services On a
Pulse Line” on Page 17 or “Entering a Pause”).
3. Press

again, then enter the memory location
number (0 – 9) where you want to store the number. A
tone sounds to indicate that the number is stored.
To clear a stored number, simply store a new number in its
place. Or, press
MEM
twice. Then press the memory
location number (0 – 9) you want to clear. A tone sounds.
Use the supplied memory
directory sticker to record
your stored numbers.
Peel the backing from the
sticker and attach it to the
base.

In some telephone systems, you must dial an access code
(9, for example) and wait for a second dial tone before you
can dial an outside number. You can store the access code
with the phone number. However, you should also store a
pause after the access code to allow the outside line time to
connect.
To enter a 2-second pause, press
REDIAL/PAUSE
. The
handset display shows

for pause entry. For a longer
pause, repeatedly press
