FIVAs
lamp lights amber when charging starts, and turns green
when charging is complete. If the
lamp goes out during charging,
it can mean that FIVAs protection circuit has cancelled the charge
operation. If this happens, remove the battery pack from FIVA and
then reattach it to resume charging. The
lamp going out frequently
during charging indicates malfunction, and you should contact your
original dealer or authorized distributor.
With the special charger unit
See the instructions that come with the charger unit for information
about how to charge the battery pack.
Important
If the battery pack is attached to FIVA, do not unplug the AC
adaptor until the
indicator lamp turns green (full charge). This
helps to extend battery pack life.
The battery pack requires period replacement. The end of a battery
packs service life is indicated when the battery pack powers FIVA
for a relatively short period after a full charge. When this happens,
replace the battery pack with a new one.
Locate the AC adaptor power cord in a place where it will not be
tripped over.
Charge the battery pack in an area where the temperature is within
the range of 5°C to 35°C (41°F to 95°F). The battery pack may fail
to reach a full charge at temperatures outside this range. In this
case the
indicator lamp does not light.
Charging of a battery pack you have not used for a long time may
not start (the BAT-LED does not light amber) when you connect the
AC adaptor. If this happens, leave the battery pack attached and
hold down the RESET switch on the bottom of FIVA for about 10
seconds.
Note
See page 90 for information about battery pack life and charging
capacity.
