Using an External Monitor
Use the following procedures to connect a CRT or LCD monitor to
FIVA for big-screen viewing. Changing the display mode enables use
of a mouse or other pointing device in place of the stylus.
To connect a monitor
1. Connect FIVA to the port replicator (page 99).
2. While FIVA is shut down, connect the monitor to the appropriate
connector of the port replicator.
Making sure the connector is oriented correctly, connect the cable
from the monitor to the appropriate port on the port replicator.
Plug the power cord of the monitor into a wall outlet. See the
documentation that comes with the monitor for details on its use.
3. Turn on FIVA and start up Windows 98.
4. Press
Fn
+ “0” to switch to the external monitor
Each press of
Fn
+ “0” cycles through monitor functions in the
following sequence: LCD → CRT* → LCD and CRT* → LCD.
