SETTING UP
Please see the table below for your
BT Freelance XA 3000 default settings.
If you wish to personalise your
answering machine settings, for
example record your own outgoing
message etc, please see “Setting up
and personalising your answering
machine” beginning on page 35.
The answering machine will now be
switched ON and set to its default
settings so your BT Freelance XA 3000
is now ready for use.

If you wish to register additional
handsets, please see page 53.
Additionally, if you have
purchased a BT Freelance XA
3000 multiple pack you will
need to do the following for
each additional handset:
1. Connect the power supply to the
charger (item code 021299).
Plug the power adaptor into the mains
power socket on the underside of the
charger.
Plug the adaptor into the mains power
supply and switch on.
2. Install the rechargeable batteries in
the handset.
3. Charge the handset batteries for at
least 16 hours.
Note
The charger must be plugged into the
mains power socket at all times.
