separate from the built-in answering system. If COVM
icon appears on the display, then your telephone has
received a signal from your telephone service provider.

Your telephone has both a built-in answering system
and voicemail indication. They are independent
features and each alerts you to new messages
differently (page 64). If you subscribe to voicemail
service from your telephone service provider (charges
may apply), contact your telephone service provider
for more information on how to access your voicemail.

to remote
commands.
• Make sure to enter your remote access code correctly
(page 74).
• Make sure you are calling from a touch-tone
telephone. When you dial a number, you should hear. When you dial a number, you should hear
tones. If you hear clicks, the telephone is not a touch-telephone is not a touch- is not a touch-

system.
• The answering system may not detect the remote
access code while your announcement is playing. Try
waiting until the announcement is over before entering
the code.
