For Telephone Features
Your computer is
unable to connect to
the Internet.
The LAN LED on the UIP1868P is off
and/or the LINK LED on your
computer's Ethernet card is off.
Making sure the cable between the UIP1868P and your computer is
1) Securely connected to the UIP1868P's LAN port.
2) Securely connected to your computer's Ethernet card
3) Free of any frays, loose connectors, or other visible defects
Your computer doesn't have an IP
address. (In most Windows systems,
open a command prompt window
and enter the command ipconfig.)
1) Making sure your computer is configured for DHCP.
2) Making sure the UIP1868P's DHCP Server is enabled.
Your computer's IP address and
subnet mask are on a different
network than the UIP1868P's.
1) Making sure the first three parts of your computer's IP address match the
UIP1868P's IP address and the fourth part is different
2) Making sure your computer's subnet mask exactly matches the subnet
mask of the UIP1868P.
The UIP1868P is not the default
gateway for your computer.
1) Making sure your computer's default gateway address is set to the
UIP1868P's IP address.
Your UIP1868P

The CA (call agent) LED is off.
1) Resetting the UIP1868P.
2) Contacting Packt8 to verify the necessary SIP configuration settings.
handset has no dial
tone.
The CA (call agent) LED is on.
1) Plugging a standard analog phone into the UIP1868P's VoIP1 port. If this
works, your UIP1868P may be damaged. Contact Uniden customer service.
Symptom Suggestion
The charge LED won't illuminate
when the handset is placed in
the cradle.
• Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the charger and wall outlet.
• Make sure the handset is properly seated in the cradle.
• Make sure the charging contacts on the handset are clean.
The audio sounds weak.
• Move the handset and/or base away from metal objects or appliances and try again.
• Make sure that you are not too far from the base.
