Answering System Troubleshooting Chart
Problem Suggestion
Answering System does not work.
Make sure that the Base Unit is plugged in.
Make sure the Answering System is turned on.
Press the
reset
button to reset the system after an
AC line spike.
Answering System does not answer calls.
Set the
rec time ANN/4/1
switch in either the
4-minute or 1-minute position.
The memory may be full. Delete some or all of
the saved messages.
Messages are incomplete.
The incoming messages may be too long.
Remind callers to leave a brief message.
The memory may be full. Delete some or all of
the saved messages.
No sound on the Base Unit speaker during call
monitoring or message playback.
Adjust the volume control on the Base Unit.
Cannot access remote call-in features from another
touch-tone phone.
Make sure you’re using the correct
PIN
number.
Use a phone which can transmit tones for up to
two seconds, or use another touch-tone phone to
access the remote call-in features on your
EXAI918.
