Registering TCX905/TWX977 Accessory or Extra Handsets
Your telephone will allow you to register up to a total of 10 cordless handsets. Handset(s) that were supplied with
the phone are pre-registered to the base unit at the factory and will display the handset ID number when charged.
Handset(s) that were purchased separately will need to be registered to the base unit before use.
A handset that has not been registered to a base unit will display the following when charged:

The telephone will automatically assign a handset ID when registration is completed.
Registering a TWX977 accessory handset:
Charge the handset batteries for 15-20 hours.
Place the handset in the main base charging cradle to begin the registration process. (HANDSET REGIS-
TERING will appear on the LCD).
After approximately 5 seconds, REGISTRATION COMPLETE will be displayed in the LCD to indicate the
completion of the registration process. If REGISTRATION FAILED appears, remove the handset from the cra-
dle and repeat steps 2 - 3.
Registering a TCX905 accessory handset:
Charge the handset batteries for 15-20 hours.
With the base in standby, press and hold the [Registration] key on the bottom of the base until the charge/in
use LED begins to ash (approximately 5 seconds).
On the TCX905 handset, press and hold [#] key until you hear a beep. (HANDSET REGISTERING will ap-
pear in the LCD)
After approximately 5 seconds, REGISTRATION COMPLETE will be displayed in the LCD to indicate the
completion of the registration process. If REGISTRATION FAILED appears, repeat steps 2 - 4.
Note: If an accessory handset was previously registered to another base, you will need to reset the handset before
you can re-register it to a new base unit. (See Resetting the Handset on page 26)
