USING CALLER ID AND CALL
WAITING
Using Caller ID and Call Waiting
You must subscribe to Caller ID service through your local telephone provider to use this feature.
When the telephone rings, the Caller ID feature allows you to view the caller’s phone number,
date and time of call, and Name Tag (POP ID) feature allows you to view the caller’s name (see
page 20). The incoming call information is stored in the Caller ID record.
If you subscribe to Caller ID on Call Waiting (CIDCW) you can view a second caller’s information rst (see
Using Call Waiting on page 31 to answer call). The CIDCW service is currently unavailable in New Zealand.
You may receive any one of the following messages:
When invalid data is received; INCOMPLETE DATA
When a private name is received; PRIVATE NAME
When a private number is received; PRIVATE NUMBER
When an unknown name is received; UNKNOWN NAME
When an unknown number is received; UNKNOWN NUMBER
When an overseas call(0000) is received
(New Zealand only): OVERSEAS CALL
When a call is coming from a payphone
(Australia only): PAYPHONE
Note: Data errors will appear on the display as “ .”
