CAUSE
You are ona channel
which is limitedto 1
watt transmit power
(e.g. Ch. 13)or you
are on a"receive
only" channel (e.g.
WX).
CAUSE 1: No
channels are inthe
scan memory.
CAUSE 2: Squelchis
not adjusted correctly.
The transmit poweris
set to low.
SYMPTOM
You can notchange the
transmit power setting.
The SCAN keydoes
not start thescan
function.
You can hear
transmissions, but the
other radio cannothear
you.
REMEDY
Change to anunrestricted
TX/RX channel.
REMEDY 1: Usethe
MEM/SCAN key toenter
desired channels intothe
scan memory.
REMEDY 2:Adjust the
squelch to thepoint that
background noise just
disappears.
Use the 1/2.5/5Wkey to
select a highertransmit
power setting.
