Symptom
You hear interference during

Remedy
• Move the handset closer to the base phone.
• Place the base phone away from noise sources
(page 6).
• Press (CHANNEL) for a channel that gives better
reception.
• This is the out-of-range alarm. Move the handset
closer to the base phone within one minute.
• The battery may be weak. Charge the battery for more
than 12 hours (page 9).
• Make sure you have subscribed to call waiting service.
• The setting of the FLASH TYPE may have been
changed. Check the setting and correct it if changed
by following the steps below.
1 Press (PGM).
2 Display “FLASH TYPE:” using the Jog lever.
3 If the value of the FLASH TYPE is not 3, press
(SELECT), then display “3” using the Jog lever.
4 Press (PGM).
• Make sure you follow the procedure in storing the
number correctly (page 25).
• When the handset is in use, you cannot store a speed
dialing number on the base phone.
• When you hear four short beeps, move the handset
closer to the base phone, or make sure you set up the
base phone correctly.
• You pressed the number button to which no phone
number has been stored.
• Store a correct number (page 25).
• Make sure you follow the procedure in storing the
number correctly (page 27).
• Make sure the number (including the tone and pause
digits) does not exceed 16 digits.
• Store a correct number (page 27).
• The handset may be engaged in conversation.
• The battery may be weak. Charge the battery for more
than 12 hours (page 9).
• Move the handset closer to the base phone.
• Place the base phone away from noise sources
